After a district court on Thursday acquitted chairman of Maharishi Vidya Mandir group Girish Chandra Verma from the sexual harassment charges, the woman who had lodged a complaint in this regard, on Saturday said that she would move to High Court.
“I respect the orders of the district court but I would exercise my rights provided by the constitution and would challenge the orders in the High Court to prove that Girish Verma is guilty and has sexually exploited me which has ruined me and my family’s future” said the victim.
The victim made the claims while speaking with the media persons on Saturday in the city. She claimed that the court has not exonerated the accused but has found that he was involved in the sexual acts with the victim but the acts were done in consent with the victim.
Based on the court orders the victim has highlighted two points. In the first point raised by victim was that the court claimed that the rape was committed with the consent of the victim which signifies that the rapes are of two types- one is with consent and other one is without consent.
Another point which was highlighted by the victim in the court order that has proved that the victim was raped for the past several years with consent; this suggested that Girish Verma is not saint and brahmachari, as he has posed as saint, religious, holy person in the society.
