A high-voltage drama unfolded in the Awadhpuri area of Bhopal on Thursday, as a woman staged a dramatic protest at the residence of the younger brother of a man she had accused of rape. Armed with a hammer, the woman allegedly broke the lock of the house, gained entry, and escalated her protest by sitting on a kitchen stove on the third floor, threatening to set the house ablaze. The terrified occupants of the house immediately alerted the police.
Upon receiving the distress call, law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene. Eyewitnesses reported a tense standoff as the woman refused to cooperate. When eventually taken to the police station, her defiant behavior continued, forcing authorities to summon additional women police personnel to bring the situation under control.
The woman's actions are reportedly linked to a prior complaint she had filed against Satish Kumar, the elder brother of the house's occupant, Amit Kumar. She had lodged a First Information Report (FIR) alleging rape against Satish, who was subsequently jailed for three months. However, Satish later secured bail and has since moved to Allahabad with his wife, his current whereabouts unknown to the protesting woman.
According to her allegations, she had been in a seven-year relationship with Satish, who she claims consistently refused to marry her. Since Satish's departure from Bhopal, the woman has been relentlessly pressuring his brother, Amit, to reveal Satish's new location.
