A cooperative department employee was relieved of a gold chain worth Rs 40,000 in Berkheda locality under Govindpura police station area on Wednesday. According to the police, at around 5.30 pm the victim Poonam Bhatti had reached her Berkheda locality residence and busy in parking her scooter, a bike-borne miscreant attacked her from behind and snatched a gold chain from neck and sped off.
Before the victim could understand anything and raise alarm, the miscreant had disappeared. Due to the sudden attack the victim was not able to notice the details of the miscreants and motorbike but confirmed that it was a black colour motorbike and the miscreant was in the age group of 20-25 years.
Earlier, in the afternoon the victim had gone to visit her relatives at Avadhpuri before the incident and the incident took place when she returned from Avadhpuri. In the whole incident, it seemed that the miscreant followed the victim for long and waited for right opportunity and attacked when she was busy in parking with her hands engaged in handling her scooter. The victim is an employee of Cooperative department and is posted at Raisen.
