A 23-year-old woman lodged complaint of giving her ‘triple talaq’ over not bringing Rs 5 lakh to open a new business; Shahjehanabad police have booked victim’s husband and his parents who went absconding.
The woman approached Shahjehanabad police station and filed a complaint against her husband Talha Shamim she accused him of giving her talaq as she was not able to bring Rs 5 lakh from her parents.
The husband and his parents used to demand money from her parents. At the time of marriage victim’s family gave Rs 1.5 lakh cash along with other goods.
Victim in her complaint alleged that accused husband used to work with a private firm and later after marriage in the year 2016 he started to demand money for business from her parents which victim refused to bring. The refusal lead to the atrocities by the husband and his parents.Talha’s father Ayaz and mother Talat also used to force victim to bring Rs 5 lakh for starting a business for Talha. Victim’s husband hit her badly when she would refuse to bring money from her parents.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 4 of the Muslim WomenAct,2019.
