Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said, “I am serving the people of the State for the last ten years as the Chief Minister. My dream is to bring smile on every face of the people of the State including farmers, sisters, youth and the common men.”Chouhan was addressing an election meeting at Dhakni in the poll bound Garoth assembly constituency of the State where by-poll is scheduled on June 27.
Chief Minister Chouhan said, “I understood the pain of farmers. During Congress rule in the State, the farmers used to get loan at 18 per cent interest. Farmer used to born and brought up under debt and also used to die under debt. The BJP after assuming power in the State in order to bring out farmers from debt burden reduced the interest rate to 9 per cent, later it was brought down to 5 per cent, 3 per cent and then 1 per cent. But the spirit crammed that why to take interest from the farmers and that is why my government decided to provide interest free loan to the farmers.”
Chouhan further said that now in Madhya Pradesh farmers not only gets interest free loan but they also gets special bonus on wheat and paddy crops, still I was not satisfied as the farmers sowing other crops were not getting any benefits, so my Government decided to provide 10 per cent subsidy on the loan for the purchase of seeds and fertilisers. Now, a farmer taking a loan of `1000 for purchasing seeds and fertilisers will have to return only `900, he added. He called on the people of Dhakni to make Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chandar Singh Sisodiya victorious from the Garoth assembly constituency to pave way for the comprehensive development of the constituency and the State.
