Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice-president Prabhat Jha claimed on Sunday that his party would win 27 out of the total 29 lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. The saffron party had been claiming to win all 29 seats from the State till now.

Jha, while talking to the mediapersons said the BJP was facing challenge from the Congress only in two lok Sabha constituencies of Chhindwara and Guna, where Union Ministers Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia are respectively in poll fray from the Congress.“BJP will win 27 seats out the total 29 in Madhya Pradesh. We are facing contest from the Congress only in Chhindwara and Guna,” Jha, told reporters in Sagar where he was to campaign for the party candidate, laxminarayan Yadav.

Congress has fielded former MlA Govind Singh Rajput from Sagar lok Sabha constituency, which falls in backward Bundelkhand region.Jha said his party will easily win Bhind lok Sabha seat, where the saffron party has fielded Bhagirath Prasad, who joined the BJP a day after being nominated from Congress for the seat. Congress had later fielded Imarti Devi from Bhind to challenge Prasad.

Jha claimed that Congress is going through a very difficult phase, because of which even its MlAs were quitting the party by risking their own seats. Justifying ticket distribution in Madhya Pradesh for the lok Sabha polls, Jha said the party considered "winnability" above anything else to finalise the candidates.

Jha Defended party’s decision to expel senior party leader Jaswant Singh and said that the veteran leader should have gone with party’s decision of not contesting lok Sabha polls.
