PNS

A special web lecture by  Prof Pushpita Awasthi of Netherlands was organised at B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences. Ambedkar Nagar on the topic Paradigm of Global Nonviolence and Identity of Women.

Prof Awasthi  said in her speech that non-violence is an ideology that needs to be imbibed globally. We have to behave it in such a way that non-violence becomes our habit, which will start from our family and go to the global level.

She said that the non-violence movement and Satyagraha adopted by Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar and Vinoba Bhave for the protection of nation is still relevant even in the present time..

She further added that Leo Tolstoy made a significant contribution to reflecting the concept of non-violence in literature in  global context.

The violence has increased in the present world due materialistic thoughts and trend. Woman is the most non-violent creature in the whole world, but women are exploited and kept under pressure and control in the male dominated Indian society  which affects the creativity of mind and humanity.

There is a need to change the vision towards women.

There is a need to connect nature with physical facilities. The nation and the world will become well-organized and cultured.

The lesson of non-violence should reach the society by the family and teachers.

Gandhiji’s concept of non-violent society will be fulfilled only by following the path of non-violence and satyagraha. She said that the basic sentiment of any nation lies in its culture.

The concept of non-violence is very strong in Indian culture. The education and vision of Gandhiji and, Vinoba is still working to forge the paradigms of  non-violence in the world.
