A relative of the ninth standard boy of Gwalior's Scindia School, Adarsh Kumar Singh , who reportedly tried to commit suicide in the school's premises and is in a critical condition, said on Saturday that they want the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh to order a high-level inquiry into the matter.

The boy's uncle Vinod Kumar said, “The principal of the school had come and even Jyotiraditya Scindia had visited. They have assured the family members that a thorough investigation will be carried out in this matter and those found guilty will be strictly prosecuted.”He further said, “But an unbiased investigation is not possible under the current principal of the school.”Kumar also informed that they have appealed to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh to order a high level inquiry in this matter.

Moreover, the fault of the school management was that it did not inform the local guardian of the boy, Narendra Sharma about the incident and kept on treating the body at two hospitals in Gwalior and later shifted him to Delhi. The school management gave written information about the incident after three days, on Friday night. It is believed that the police are working under immense pressure from Scindia family and thus no FIR has been registered so far in the incident. The boy was found lying on the floor in his room and a mattress was tied in his neck. To this, the school staff claimed that the boy was found hanging and he tried to attempt suicide.

Factually, father of the boy Jai Kumar has stated that the boy had been complaining regarding harassment by few students. He had also requested the school management to change his hostel room, but it did not pay any heed. The doctors who attended the boy claim that the marks on the neck suggest that the injury marks were due to strangulation.
