The young and cheerful Vibha Anand is one of the most popular actresses on television today. Known for playing a strong role of Sugna in Balika Vadhu on Colors and a powerful role in UTV Bindass’ Yeh Hai Ashiqui, Vibha would now be seen in another influential role, Subhadra in the epic Mahabharata.

In a rendezvous with The Pioneer, Vibha shares her journey towards a sheer success in television industry.

“After my role as Sugna in Balika Vadhu was a huge success, at that time I never thought that I would be the part of the epic. But I love challenges and |so as my different roles,” explains Vibha.

After seen in so many different roles, the young actress from Dehradun manages to make it big with the role of Subhadra. “Well I feel so contented that I am still remembered as Sugna and my role is appreciated by my fans. But, I promise after they’ll see me as Subhadra they would remember me with this character,” she said smilingly. “There are many similarities between me and the character of Subhadra,” she added.

On asking about her favourite character in Mahabharata, she said, “I am much influenced with the character of lord Krishna. Saurabh’s (actor playing lord Krishna) character is very and seeing his role I realised that how far we were from the pure religious beliefs.” She also highlighted over which character she would have played if offered the serial a bit early. “If it would have been given a choice I would have played the role of Arjuna or Krishna. But as I am a girl it is not possible in any way,” she added laughingly. She also shared one of her fascinating experiences during the shoot in forest nearby Umargaon.

Vibha shared many difficulties she faced in preparing for this role. She had done much research on Subhadra and so it was possible for her to prepare for the role. “The series has language with a mix of Sanskrit which we usually do not speak now, so yes it was difficult for me to get prepared for it.”

On commenting over the current situation of women in society, she says, “If we go back to that era, even Draupadi was a strong lady and till now the women have been empowered and raising their voices against all the wrong in the society. So in any case women are powerful.” This was her second trip to Bhopal. She says, “This city is so peaceful and beautiful I would definitely love to visit here again.”
