A meeting of the core group of newly formed non-political organisation Vichar Manch was held here on Tuesday. The meet held on the eve of presentation of State Budget in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly demanded that the Budget should become such mirror of economical and financial position in that the people of the State could see their financial face. Besides, the Government was told that it should stop preparing budget by sitting in rooms and due consultations should be made with the people before giving shape to the State Budget.
Prominent those who attended the meeting include former impendent MlA Paras Saklecha, RTI Activist Vinayak Parihar from Narsinghpur, social activist Akshay Hunka and Nilu Agarwal from Ratlam.
The core group members of the non-political organisation were of the view that the sentiments and expectations of the people should be included in the budget but for the 2017-18 budget the state government did not took any kind of advice from any section of society.
No one including farmers, youth, women, laborers, laborers working in unorganized sector, industrialists and intellectuals were consulted nor did the advice of any of these was taken in budget formation, how could the budget prepared by just officials could be the mirror of the state, opined the core committee members of Vichar Manch.
The core group attributed this being the reason that despite high growth rate in economy the increase in gross domestic product could not be reflected and the comprehensive development in the common man’s living standard is not visible.
The core decided that thorough analysis of Government’s budget for 2017-18 should be done in perspective of last ten budgets and the people of the state should be made aware that how much the targets sets during the last budgets were met with.
