Vehicles of Water Resource Department were stoned and and the team was attacked with wooden sticks by villagers of Majeedgarh over construction of dam in the area without providing compensation to the villagers. The team had gone to survey the area Nazeerabad. Police have registered case against five persons.
Ruckus was created by the locals who opposed survey by the team, which reached the spot at the village on October 7.
Initially the team faced verbal spate which soon turned violent after locals started to stone pelt the vehicles and attacked team with wooden sticks forcing the team to leave the spot and later on Friday they approached the Eithkhedi police and lodged complaint.
During the investigation police found that around dozen men of the village were demanding that compensation should be provided to them as their agriculture land would be affected by the construction of the dam and during the discussion with the team which had gone for conducting survey villagers turned hostile and attacked.
