The process of getting vehicles registered at the time of purchase from the vehicle dealers is not being followed in Gwalior city.

For the registration of two-wheelers, one has to pay around Rs 1,500 to Rs 2500 and if it is not paid then the customers will not receive the sale letter and other essential documents from the dealers. Some of the customers have raised this issue against the dealers.

According to the sources, complaints against Bajaj Motorcycle dealer Gupta and Sons and sub-dealer Arjun Motors Kumarpura, Morar were lodged with the Transport Department. Several customers are waiting for the registration of their vehicles as they did not pay the amount to the dealers. One customer Sonu Jatav has informed that a dealer has asked for Rs 2000 and he has not paid the amount and dealers have refused to issue the documents.

Jatav is unable to register his vehicle for last two months. He has also lodged a complaint against the dealer with the RTO office but still no action has been taken against him.

A similar complaint against Gupta Motor and Sons has come to fore from where Noor Mohammad has purchased a bike and on the account of RTO registration process, the dealer had asked to pay Rs 2500 and when he refused to pay the amount then the Gupta Motor and Sons did not provide the insurance letter and sale letter. Due to this bike was not registered. The complaint was lodged against the Gupta Motor and Sons dealer to the RTO office but the matter is still pending.
