To observe the 39th foundation day of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) various events will be organised.
The foundation day of MPSTDC will be organised on May 24 at Hotel Palash Residency. Observing the foundation day new tourist island will be inaugurated at Omkareshwar. While informing about the 39th foundation day of MPSTDC to the media persons on Monday, Chairman of MPSTDC Tapan Bhowmik gave a brief about the Madhya Pradesh Tourism.
He said the MPSTDC was formed on May 24, 1978 at a very small level and over the years the department has increased with various accomplishments.
Elaborating further, he said that at first when the department was formed there were only 29 employees and in 39 years there are about 2300 employees working with MPSTDC. Bhowmik further said that during the 39 years the department has faced many challenges but, faced them with positivity. After facing huge challenges and obstacles, the tourism department is doing extremely well.
Bhowmik then informed about the projects in pipeline and also about the events of 39th foundation day.
He said that on May 24 an award ceremony will be organized at Hotel Palash Residency from 11 am. The employees of tourism department from across the world will be awarded for their hard work and dedication. In as many as 35 categories the employees will be felicitated. On the same day newly constructed tourist islands will be inaugurated at Omkareshwar. Bhowmik informed that presently there are 76 housing and six non-housing units are being conducted. Informing about the newly constructed units, Bhowmik said that 23 rooms are constructed for the tourists along with the boat club.
He further said that there are various projects in pipeline. Bhowmik said that Way Side Amenities will be developed at the State highways for which the process is going on.
