The State Information Commission on Saturday opined that use of Right To Information (RTI) Act for inappropriate goal comes in the category of its misuse.
While rejecting the appeal of a contractor of Sabalgarh (Morena district) Siyahposh Sharma, SIC Atmadeep stated that use of RTI for professional interests and to harass others by seeking information under the RTI Act cannot be justified. He also commented that this system can not be continued.
He told that the RTI should be used in public interest for bringing transparency in the governance. Factually, the RTI gives right to every citizen for seeking information in public interest and good cause, he added.
