Staff Reporter

Toughening her stand on prohibition of liquor shops near temples and schools, Uma Bharti has set up a temporary stay near Ayodhya Nagar Hanuman and Durga temple from January 29. Uma's protest is against this shop as well as the liquor policy of the state.

In view of their protest, the liquor shop was first covered with a curtain, while the shop was also closed on Tuesday. Uma says that if the liquor policy of the state does not suit us, then whatever happens at the liquor shops will become an example.

In the temple where Uma Bharti is staying, a temporary hut has been made of plywood. The local people are making arrangements for their food and drink. Religious programmes are being held in the temple for the third day today. ‘Sunderkand’ recitation was kept here today which was attended by a large number of devotees. For this, one side of the road has been barricaded and a tent has been put up.

Uma said- The shop in front of this temple is the land of the police department. That is, the land on which the police station was to be built, where the law and order work was to be done, a liquor shop was opened.

She said that it is shameful for her and for the BJP. My protest is not about this shop alone. She said “my protest is about 18 thousand liquor shops in Madhya Pradesh. I wanted to close these shops.
