This play is a story of a revolutionary Thakur Kishore Singh who fought against the British army and lost his life as a martyr. The play is set in the time of 1857 when a spark for freedom spread all over the country. The revolutionaries in a small town Hindoria at Damoh announced a war against the Britishers where the revolutionaries were lead by Thakur Kishore Singh.
Though the revolutionaries had shortage of money and war equipments, but the urge and passion to gain freedom increased day by day. Another play, Santhal Vidroh is based on the story of tribal people who were ill treated by the British officials and the zamindars. Written and directed by Archana Shailendra, the play was presented by The Sanskar Valley School, Bhopal.
long time back, during the British era, the zamindars were like the puppets in the hands of the British officials. Both the elite classes ill treated the tribes and after the matter went out of hands, the tribal men were unable to bear the situation. As a result a conflict between British army and tribal people was called on. Both the plays had a great impact over the audience. The spectators were taken in the time period of pre-independent India that created a wonderful atmosphere at the Shaheed Bhavan hall. The enthralling performance by the kids and the sensible use of lighting and backdrop left the audiences mesmerized.
