Two groups of liquor contractors clashed over the issue of possession on the contract late on Tuesday night. The clash took place at the liquor contract in station Bazaria locality. The contract of station Bazaria is on the name of Ranjeet Shivhare of Betul. His younger brother Birju Shivhare looks after this contract. On the night of March 31, a new contractor Harendra Jadon with his partner Umesh Rathore reached there and demanded to hand over the shop. At this Birju said he would hand over the shop in the morning. After heated exchanges, from both the parties, Umesh and his supporters beat up Birju.
In the meantime, SHO of Padav Somsingh Raghuvanshi reached there with police force. He has discussion with Birju. But the supporters of Birju caught Ramendra Gurjar and his brothers Rahesh and Sonu and four others. On a complaint of Ramendra, a case was registered under sections 341, 323, 294, 506, 336, 427 and 147 of the IPC. The accused could not be arrested so far. Police said that Umesh Singh, who is a partner in new shop, is a defaulter declared by the Excise department. The wine contractor Birju said that he was coming from police station after lodging complaint.
