It was a splendid weekend spent by Potterheads of the city. The two-day Harry Potter Festival concluded here on Sunday with event ‘Spells and Charms.’ The fest was organised at Swami Vivekananda Library.

Organised by Club Literati, the event not only had a great start but an enthusiastic closure as well. The evening began with a magic show by Magician Ashirwad Dande, 22 year old boy of Bhopal who has made a mark in India's Got Talent and other reality shows on Zee Telugu with his magic tricks. He got inspired by Harry Potter to become a magician.

The guest speaker of the evening Sudhir Dixit is a professor and translator of Manjul Publishing House. He was chosen to translate the books of Harry Potter series into Hindi and also did justice to the original books. He is the one who created the Hindi names of the houses of Hogwards i.e. Garuddwar, Nagshakti, Cheelghat, Mehnatkash. Sudhir had recreated the era in his own way which marked a turning point in Indian publishing as well.

A witch hunt for hocruxes, designed by Bhaskar Indrakanti, founder Orange Owl Percepts, was also a part of the finale. Later the treasure hunt began. The wizards had to find clues (placed within the library) which would lead them to Hocruxes of Voldemort; all this to be done in 15mins. The clues were hidden in different areas of the library in the ancient scrolls designed by Dyutima Sharma, making the world of Hogwards come to life in the midst of the city. Prizes were awarded to the winners.

Aiman Khan, a Potterhead displayed her Harry Potter collection at the festival. The festival was created by members of Club Literati, Manjul Publishing House and Swami Vivekanand Library, that made the festival a new literary flavor of the town.
