Two commit suicide after blaming money lenders

PNS

In an ugly turn of events, two persons apparently dejected over perpetual mental torture being meted out to them by money lenders ended their lives following a suicide pact last night.

Before committing suicide, they also wrote a suicide note holding four money lenders responsible for forcing them to take this extreme step and seeking strictest action against them. The deceased, according to Sanyogitaganj police station TI DS Baghel, have been identified as Raju, a resident of CPWD quarter and Rakesh, a resident of Bholenath Dham colony.  While Raju was working as a lineman, Rakesh ran a fish shop.

Family members of the deceased informed that on Friday night Rakesh came to the quarter of Raju. Thereafter, the duo consumed liquor, after sometime Rakesh called up his relatives from an unknown number apprising them that he and Raju had consumed poison. Soon after receiving phone, the family members of Rakesh immediately rushed to CPWT colony located at White Church and found Rakesh lying unconsciously on the road. They immediately rushed him to MY hospital. After sometime, Raju too was taken to MY hospital by his neighbours.

However, as the luck would have it, the duo could not survive. In his suicide note, Raju stated that he had taken debt from one Kundan at a very higher interest rate. He was being tortured mentally by Kundan for the interest on the debt.

On the other hand, Rakesh in his suicide note had requested that his family members need not to be troubled, stating that he was committing suicide with Raju, whom he in the suicide note had addressed as maternal uncle. In his suicide note, Rakesh sought an apology form his mother regretting that he had not done anything for her. TI Baghel said the police will take due against the accused following a probe into the matter.
