Ruckus was created at the JP hospital after two children were trapped in the lift of the hospital for around an hour and were rescued with extensive efforts made by the lift mechanic. The incident took place in the evening on Monday.
After people heard crying and shouting of children from inside the lift they started searching for the liftman who was nowhere near the lift.
After this the hospital management was informed. The children were pulled out after calling a technician. The incident happened in the hospital on Monday evening, while ordering an inquiry, the hospital superintendent has said that action will be taken against the culprits.
According to the information, at around 5 pm, two children between the ages of eight and ten went to the lift while playing in the hospital premises. The lift stopped as soon as the button was pressed. When the elevator door did not open, the children started screaming. People standing outside tried to remove the crying children, but they failed.
The people at the spot said that there was no liftman there at that time and information was passed on to the hospital management. After searching for about 15 minutes, the liftman appeared. The children were trapped inside for half an hour. After getting information about the matter, former MLA PC Sharma reached the hospital.
Management does not know who the child is, despite the entire matter spread in no time, the hospital management could not find out who the children were. The hospital management believes that the children must have come outside playing somewhere. They ran away as soon as the elevator door opened.
