The young students of Parvarish-The Museum School are learning different tribal arts in a month long workshop being organised in city.

During the tribal painting workshop the students are discovering the colourful world of tribal art. Organized by Parvarish-The Museum School, the workshop is all about the modern creativity blended with the traditional art. The young students are creating jewellery pieces, jewellery boxes, duppattas, kurtis and even more art pieces with the tribal art.

Since the ancient times the tribal art has made a specific place in country’s art. The beauty and the stories that are carved out in this art make it even more eye pleasing and the way the message is depicted in paintings, makes them different from other forms. The different variations of this art are being made by the students of Parvarish.

Talking to The Pioneer, founder of Parvarish The Museum School Shibani Ghosh said, “The traditional art of any country describes its culture on a vast scale. These paintings are prepared with keeping in view the cultures, traditions, rituals and practices of the tribes. Students of the school are really enjoying this workshop as they are able to explore their creativity in different ways. Also they are enhancing their artistic skills through this workshop.”

During the workshop the students are learning Gond painting from Madhya Pradesh, Warli painting from Maharashtra and Gujarat, Bhil painting and Madhubani painting from Rajasthan. All these forms of paintings describe the creativity of tribal art fantastically. Depicting the surroundings, daily lifestyle, festivals, stories of gods and goddesses and even more the tribal art showcases it all with vibrant colours and combinations. Besides, the students are learning it with much enthusiasm.
