The French language lovers of the city are enjoying various events under its Samaine langue Francaise Francophonie ‘Franchophonie Week’.
Here on Tuesday, the foodies and the French cuisine lovers of the city enjoyed a French movie Comme un Chef (The Chef) screened at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal. The movie was screened under its event Gout de France (Good France). It is a mega event wherein 2000 chefs from across the world have participated.
The movie too was a part of it which highlighted about French cuisine.
Comme un chef is a French comedy film, directed by Daniel Cohen and starring Jean Reno and Michael Youn. The film had its International premiere at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in 2012.
The protagonist of the film Jacky is a Frenchmen who has a passion for haute cuisine. But, Jacky is fired from his job. But, to take care of his family Jacky accepts a job as a painter. later he made friends with establishment’s cooks and helps them in improving the menu.
These improvements eventually reach the ears of Alexandre lagarde (Jean Reno), who is also in a precarious situation: as the renowned chef of the Cargo lagarde restaurant, he has to improve his entire menu. If he cannot achieve this, the place will lose a star from its rating and Stanislas Matter (Julien Boisselier) will convert it into a molecular kitchen, with Alexandre and all the cooks losing their jobs.
He offers a job to Jacky. The destiny brings them both together to present the delicious French menu ever. Both Jacky and Alexandre start cooking together but as soon as they begin, Jacky's and Alexandre's stubbornness leads to an argument that results in Jacky being fired. But, still destiny had other plans for them both and again brings them together to solve their differences and differences of them with their respective families.
