Transport constables recruitment exam inquiry

Staff Reporter

Right to Information (RTI) activist from the state Capital Ajay Dubey has alleged that the impartial investigation of the irregularities in transport constables recruitment examination is not possible without removal of Transport Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Choudhary, who is a close relative of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Dubey in a statement here on Monday said that the investigation in the irregularities in transport constables recruitment examination started again from Monday, after being hampered for long. "The sudden action of the Special Task Force (STF) has raised several questions. The STF AIG Kamal Morya in a letter to the Commissioner Transport and Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) on Monday sought to know whether the interviews of the transport constables were held, if yes then provide its record. How many of the successful constables belong to Gondiya and the total number of candidates and what were the cut off marks for this exam."

Dubey further said that the impartial investigation of the case is not possible as the Transport Deputy Commissioner is a close relative of the Chief Minister and hence he should be immediately removed. This is also necessary because a fire broke out in mysterious conditions at the transport department headquarters   at Moti Mahal due to which records were affected and the report of that has not been made public till date,

he added.

He said that as per his information the suspected candidates hailing from Gondiya succeeded in the exam due to the Chief Minister's influence  have provided their addresses of Madhya Pradesh but their character certification has been done from the police station nearest to their residence  and that is Gondiya district. Had the government been honest then it should have made public the character certification report of the successful candidates, he added.

The RTI activist also cornered the Chief Minister over his announcement made in January this year that the MPPEB would be brought under General Administration Department (GAD) that has not been done till date and wished to know from the government as to why no action has been taken.
