Staff Reporter

Madhaya Pradesh Minister of State for School Education Deepak Joshi on Wednesday informed the Assembly that a transparent education system was being evolved for the benefit of students.

Replying to Narendra Singh Kushwah of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during Question Hour regarding the problem of the students who failed to appear in the examination due to setting up of examination centres far away from their villages and home town in Bhind District, Joshi admitted some problems cropped up due to geographical position of Bhind District.

Kushwah said that as many as 20,000 students could not appear in the examination centres due to the distance. He said that for some students, the distance remained about 50 km. He said that shifting of centres for this year's secondary and higher secondary examination affected immensely.

Joshi admitted that some problems were reported as the District is situated with border area of the other state. But the centres were relocated to make the examination system more transparent and several innovative measures were also being taken in this regard.

However, when Kushwah pointed out that some education officials were involved in irregularities, the Minister said that action would be taken against them.
