The works of the first phase of Shri Mahakal Lok in the mythological city of Ujjain, were completed in a span of 4 years. It is also a symbol of the commitment of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan towards the common man and the state.

In the year 2019, the pace of these works had slowed down, but in March 2020, Shivraj Singh Chouhan as Chief Minister again became active to fulfill this responsibility. It did not take long for the works of the first phase of Shri Mahakal Lok to be completed on time. These works were continuously reviewed by the CM.

Chouhan himself believes that earlier, devotees and tourists coming to Ujjain would go back after spending some time after darshan of Lord Mahakal. Now they will get the opportunity to spend more time in a developed premises in better surroundings. Here one will get the satisfaction and pleasure of observing the revival of Rudra Sagar and the fascinating murals, sculptures based on Shiva Leela etc. and many other developed sites for many hours. By spending more time, they will be able to make their journey worthwhile.

Many facilities have been developed for the visitors in Shri Mahakal Lok Complex. Domestic and foreign tourists and devotees coming here will be able to make their journey memorable by taking advantage of newly developed facilities. When CM Chouhan saw the completed works of the first phase in Ujjain stay on October 5, he was also satisfied that quality work has been done with the prescribed standards.

Tourists and devotees coming to see Lord Mahakal in Ujjain will experience more joy.

The arrangements made for darshan in a small campus on the occasion of Simhastha every 12 years will also now become easier in a larger complex.

The entire Malwa region will get the benefit of development of Shri Mahakal Lok along with Ujjain city. Ujjain Nagar and Malwa Zone will be able to take advantage of the increase in economic activities due to the increase in the number of tourists and devotees, which will be a remarkable positive change. Along with this, better connection of Ujjain will be established with the neighboring metropolis Indore.

Apart from this, the expansion of Ujjain airstrip and increase in the number of flights to and from Indore airport will significantly increase the economic, religious and cultural importance of the entire Malwa region.
