Thousands of voters have contacted voters’ facilitation centres set up in all the 230 Vidhan Sabha constituencies as well as district headquarters in the state and availed facilities available there. Facilities regarding voters’ lists and EPIC cards (Electorate Photo Identity Card) are being provided at these centres. Any voter belonging to any Vidhan Sabha constituency can visit these centres. Duplicate voters ID cards are also being prepared there.
So far, these centres have received 89,130 copies of Form-6 from voters, 42,482 Form-7, 78,529 Form-8A and 50,409 Form-002. The applications are being disposed of within prescribed time-limit. Voters’ facilitation centres function from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm during working days.
It is noteworthy that Form-6 pertains to inclusion of names in electoral rolls and issuance of new EPIC cards, Form-7 for getting names deleted from electoral rolls, Form-8A for rectification of errors in old cards and Form-002 pertains to issuance of duplicate cards. If a voter’s name exists in electoral roll and his EPIC card is misplaced, he or she can get a duplicate card immediately after filling up form-002 and depositing `25.
Chief Electoral Office has started website www.ceomadhyapradesh.nic.in for associating common people with Indian electoral process and convenience of voters. Thousands of people are availing benefit of this website daily. Similarly, a call centre with toll-free number 1950 has also been installed. The call centre is receiving 600-650 calls everyday. Maximum of these calls pertain to EPIC cards.
Electoral rolls-2013 are also available on the website of Chief Electoral Office. Any voter can browse these electoral rolls to ascertain whether his or her name is included in them or not. If a voter’s name does not appear in the lists by feeding card number, he will have to get his name included by filing up Form-6. Chief Electoral Officer Jaideep Govind has urged voters to use website facility and elicit information about inclusion of their names.
