The children learning the basics of theatrical presentation would perform a story on ‘Panchatantra Ki Kahaniyaan’.
Several children of the city aspiring for theatre activities are being trained at their best skills by noted theatre personalities at Gandhi Bhavan. A month long theatre workshop is being organised for the aspiring students by Children’s theatre academy. The workshop began here from May 12 and would continue till June 15.
Students are being taught basic acting exercises to strengthen their acting foundation. This training programme would further train the students to free them from self consciousness and strengthen their concentration through sensory exercises. Students are given assignments to apply in their theatrical personality and performances.

body movements, facial expression with dialogue, footwork on music along
with other experimental exercises are being taught by noted theatre personality Prem Gupta
This workshop is divided in to two sessions. Participants of age group from 5 to 17 are being trained in the first session from 11am to 4pm and participants from 18 years and above are participating in the second session from 5pm to 9pm.
“To begin with the basics of theatre activities it is important for children to know in what pitch the voice has to be used while acting on stage,” said noted theatre artist Prem Gupta.
Elaborating further he said, “It is also important to be patient and manage all the theatre activities with brilliance and this is what we taught as the vital basic of theatres. Children were also taught to make masks.”
He further said, “There are many students aspiring to learn the acting skills and this workshop is basically for them. All the basics would be covered in this workshop keeping in view the major skills.”
The workshop majorly focuses on Acting techniques, Body language, Observational kills, Voice Modulation, Diction and Speech. This will provide a unique knowledge practice based techniques, which is very important to acquire in this career. All kind of genres like tragedy, comedy, drama and horror would also be taught.
