Two short plays , ‘Prashikshan’ and ‘Satkatha Kahi Nahi Jaati,’ were splendidly performed at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium on Wednesday.

It was the opening day of a five-day theatre festival ‘Rang Triveni Theatre Festival 2017.’ The fest is being organised by Saghan Society for Culture and Welfare, Bhopal.

On Wednesday two short plays directed by renowned playwright and director of Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (MPSD) Sanjay Upadhyay. Both the plays were brilliantly performed by the artists of MPSD.

The first play was performed was ‘Prashikshan’. The backdrop of the play was kept simple and the light design added to the moods of the play.

The play reveals about the challenges faced by a common man in everyday life. The person steps aside and tries to avoid the challenges. But the real learning of a man lies in facing the challenges and not running away from them.

The play began with introducing a young boy, who is hungry. In search of food he goes from one restaurant to another. People ask him to eat or else it’s ok. The young boy got stuck between formalities and facing the challenge.

Next play was a sheer treat for the theatre buffs of the city. The play ‘Satkatha Kahi Nahi Jati’ was a solo act play splendidly performed by veteran tehatre actor and renowned playwright Alok Chhatterjee.

The story of the play revolves around the hypocrisy of the society. The truths of the society are manipulated for the common man.

Calmly interacting with the audience Alok threw light on social issues manipulated by leaders and politicians.
