Tepid response to recuitment of fourth grade employees in Palamu

PNS

The process of recruitment of fourth grade personnel in Palamu has become an arduous task as administration has to tackle a two pronged issue first enormous misinformation made about the recruitment and second to comply in toto with the judgement of the Supreme Court.

Tense moments prevail in the corridors of the Palamu administration over the tepid response to the filing of applications for the post of fourth grade employment here.

According to the district employment officer Dhananjay Kumar "Till date July 28 there has come little over 1,900 (nineteen hundred) applications only." The last date of applications to reach the district employment office is July 5 and by 5 pm.

Here it's to be noted no application is to be submitted to this office hand to hand.Applications are to come either through the registered post or through the speed post.

By this account an applicant has to post his packet of application either latest by July 2 or 3 as post offices take 2 to 3 days to deliver registered post or speed post.

Application filing had started way back in the second week of June itself.Following the lukewarm response to this fourth grade employment advertisement put up by the Palamu administration, DDC (deputy development commissioner)M Jawed Husaain on Saturday reached the district employment office and inquired about the status of the 'arrival of the applications'.

District public relation officer Dr Asim Kumar who accompanied the DDC told this correspondent "The inflow of the applications was found to be very poor by the DDC. It's 1,900 plus total on Saturday since the publication of the advertiser in the second week of June.

However Asim Kumar quoting the district employment officer Dhananjay Kumar said there is a fairly large number of eligibles who have registered themselves with the employment exchange office here.

Sources said some YouTubers last week carried stories about postponement of this recruitment quoting a minister of the state but didn't take any pains of authenticating their stories by any senior government's quotes or notes.

Such a misinformation made so viral had its devastating impact on the pace of filing of the applications.

It's a limping filing, not a pouring filing said one official in the Palamu administrative set up here on Saturday. A total of 585 posts of fourth grade employment have been advertised.  More than 300 posts out of 585 are reserved ones. Palamu administration had thought of an avalanche of the applications following such a huge number of vacancies but it has proved wrong so far. Applications are trickling in.

It is hoped the visit of the DDC to the office of the district employment may see a boom in filing applications in the last few days left to the end date July 5.

Sources said the Saturday visit of the DDC to the office of the district employment is to counter and scotch misinformation made about the recruitment by the YouTubers on the basis of the conversation between a minister and the chief minister.
