Staff Reporter

Record dip in temperature was witnessed in the State capital on Saturday as the minimum temperature came down by seven notches on a single day to reach at 11 degree Celsius. The temperature recorded on Friday night was 18.6 degree Celsius.

The sudden change in weather condition is due to the clearance of sky that was covered with clouds since last couple of days.

The snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh has affected the weather of the Madhya Pradesh and the sudden changes in the temperature are result of that.

According to the Met office, the low pressure area that was active in the Arabian Sea has become weak. It was due to this change that the sky of the city was covered with clouds since last two days.

With sky getting cleared the direction of the winds has also changed and now northern winds have started blowing. Due to snowfall in the northern areas the winds coming from that direction are very cold due to that cold conditions have increased in most parts of the state.

The weather department is expecting that the cold conditions would further intensify in next three four days and the minimum temperature could dive to 10 degree Celsius.

The weather conditions in the State capital have been going flip-flop since last some days as the temperature recorded on December 9 was 13 degree Celsius, on December 10 it rise to 17.4 degree Celsius.
