A 16-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at Hinotia Alam village under Kolar police station area on Monday.
The deceased identified as Nazia Khan was found hanging with the ceiling and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
Police said the incident happened when Nazia family members have gone for shopping in the morning but when they returned they found her hanging.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under Section 174 of the CrPC was registered.
Meanwhile, Kamla Nagar police booked the husband of a 29-year-old woman for harassing and assaulting her at Rivera Township.
The victim Akansha Bhatnagar lives in a rented house in Rivera Township with her husband Aditya Bhatnagar. The accused used to fight and assault the victim frequently.
Aditya hails from Mandsaur. The victim in her complaint stated that her husband used to harass her demanding bringing of money from her parents.
The victim refused to ask for money from her parents that used to anger the accused and he used to assault and abuse her.
The police have registered a case under Section 498 A, 294 and 323 of the IPC and have started search of the accused husband.
