The State Secretary of Aam Admi Patry (AAP) Akshay Hunka alleged that in spite of the prior announcement of heavy rainfall the disaster management system of the Government was a complete failure. The death toll in the State being 22 and maximum from the capital shows lack of foresightedness from the side of the Government.
Hunka alleged that there have been encroachments in the catchment areas of the lakes. Encroachment on the nullahs , shrinking greenery, playing with nature in the name of development and not following the directives of the NGT was repaid by the citizens with their lives. He added.
The cities that could only handle so much rain and natural calamities are not yet ready to become Smart cities. The AAP workers are visiting the flood affected areas and helping the affected families. In Bhopal, here on Monday the party workers helped the people in the Kolar area who were stranded after the Kolar water supply pipeline broke augmenting further the pain of people affected by harsh and cruel weather.
Floods are always followed by diseases and spread rapidly affecting scores of people, supporting their claims and alleging the state government’s failure the AAP party demanded the government to take precautionary measures to remain alert and ready with essential arrangements like medicines and adequate number of doctors round the clock to ensure that every emergency situation should be address properly and the victims would be provided with required help. The rescue measures should be arranged properly.
