Students of government and non-government schools of the state will be made aware about wildlife and environmental protection through “Anubhuti Programme”. This year the target is to make 3 lakh 20 thousand students aware. The programme was started in December 2021 by organising a camp of 43 students at Unique Higher Secondary Manpur in Indore district.
The CEO of Eco Tourism Development Board Satyanand said that 1 lakh 20 thousand students of government schools would be connected to this program through Anubhuti camps in the month of January in all the forest areas of the state while following the guidelines of Covid-19. In the remaining period of the year, 2 lakh students of non-government schools will be connected to the “programme”. Paid camps will be organised for the students of private schools.
CEO Satyanand said that the Forest Department acquaints the students of different schools through eco-tourism about forests, wildlife, environmental protection, biodiversity, bird sightings, butterfly sightings, wildlife sightings along with forest management on the nature trail set in natural places. Students will be sensitized in these camps by trained master trainers and local forest officials. Trained students in the camps play the role of effective conductors towards wildlife and environmental protection.
