Students prepare working model to stop terrorists

Inspired by a news article, these middle school students from Burhanpur have prepared a working model that can stop terrorists from crossing the Indian borders.

After the terrorist attack in Uri in 2016, two students Anushka Kanodiya and Farhan Ansari from Abbasi Memorial English medium School, Burhanpur thought of making a working model ‘line of Control’ that can enhance the security system at the Indian borders.

They are participating in the 44th Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE) 2017, which began here on Friday. A number of students from across the country are exhibiting their models at Academy of Administration.

line of Control is prepared by Anushka Kanodiya of class 9 and Farhan Ansari of class 8 under the guidance of school teacher Mohammad Khalil. It shows a model of security system for securing the Indian borders.

As the students explained about their model, they told The Pioneer about what inspired them to create it. “After we read about the Uri Attack in one of the news articles, we were saddened with the death of our Indian soldiers. So we thought why not to prepare a working model that can advance the security system and prevent the entry of external threats,” said Farhan.

While explaining about the science model, Anushka said, “We have made this model with a different view and so we took a lot of hardwork while preparing it.”

The model showcases a replica of line of Control which has a magnetic plate on both the sides of the fence. Anushka said, “These are the ‘Human Sensitive Magnetic Plates’ to be placed in the dimension of 10 meters on both the sides. As soon as the terrorist will step up on this plate, a silent siren will blow in the headquarters warning Indian army about the external threat.” She said that if there is no electricity, this magnetic plate will also work through a solar panel and a wind mill.

Besides, the model suggests that the fence should be kept 20 feet higher than the usual height and 20 feet under the ground so that there is no way for the terrorists to enter the borders.

“We are trying to get our model patent just for the security of those who spent nights and days for our security,” added Farhan.
