After learning various forms of theatre activities in a workshop, the students are now preparing for the plays to be staged on the concluding day of the theatre festival. Besides, old citizens of the city are also a part of this workshop.

Notably, the month long theatre workshop is being organised by Samantar Theatre Group, Bhopal and is conducted by a noted theatre artist of the city Mukesh Sharma, while talking to The Pioneer, Mukesh Sharma said, “This is the 11 year of the theatre workshop and I have conducted various workshops across the country till now. But, this time I thought to give it a new form and a different one as well.

This time I have included not only the youngsters, but have also included elderly people who have a keen interest to do theatres.” Elaborating further about it he said, “They are not here to take up the theatres of course as a career, but as their hobby and to let them enjoy their hobby we are preparing two different productions.”

While asking about the productions he said, ‘It would be a treat for the theatre goers as well as the artists who are playing their part on the stage.”

The workshop began on June 15 and would continue till 30 July. During the workshop, students are being taught basic acting exercises to strengthen their acting foundation. This training programme further aims to free students from self consciousness and strengthen their concentration through sensory exercises. Students are given assignments to apply in their theatrical personality and performance. Two plays would be prepared during the workshop that would be staged on the concluding day of the workshop.

Further, many known theatre experts are being invited to let the students learn the concepts of the theatre performance more clearly. From lighting to sound and from stage craft to acting, students are exploring all kinds of concepts clearly.
