'STF working on CM's directives'

Staff Reporter

The Congress party has repeated its allegation that the Special Task Force (STF) investigating the infamous Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam is functioning on the directives of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Former leader of Opposition in the State Assembly and senior Congress legislator Ajay Singh on Thursday questioned that as to why the high profile arrests were not made in the MPPEB scam despite Home Minister’s statement in this regard.

“Despite Home Minister Babulal Gaur’s statement that soon some high profile personalities would be arrested in the scam, no arrest has been so far, though several days have passed. The STF is working on the directives of Chief Minister Chouhan and the high profile personalities indicated by the home minister are related to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which are being saved, so that the Chief Minister could be saved,” Singh said.

Singh further said that Chief Minister Chouhan is directly connected with the biggest ever educational and recruitment scam of the country and that is why he

is trying to mislead the investigations right from the

beginning.

The STF is only doing whatever is desired by the Chief Minister despite having facts and evidence against him, he added.

Questioning the working style of the STF in the case, the senior Congress leader alleged that when the noose started tightening around Chief Minister’s neck in the case, the STF by bringing the Governor to the fore once again saved the CM. The episode of FIR lodged against Governor shows the STF has been working under immense pressure, he added.

The former leader of Opposition terming publicity of High Court observation in hard disc matter as verdict in his favour by BJP and Chief Minister as contempt

of court said that the fact is that as long as STF is investigating the case, the real culprits and stage managers of this scam would not be brought to book.

He demanded that the Government should immediately instruct the STF to arrest the high profile persons indicated by the Home Minister recently.
