Sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday conducted raids on many private colleges of the city to dig out information regarding ‘suspected’ students involved in the Barkatullah University examination scam and who went missing after the scam came into light.
Notably, the STF was investigating the examination of BDS conducted in the month of May-June in the continuous department of the Barkatullah University.
The searches were continued for whole day for information regarding the suspicious students, however, no arrests have been made. At the same time the details of the investigation done in the colleges were not revealed by the STF. The revelations could help in unearthing the nexus and more important information would surface.
During the investigation it was revealed that the accused used to offer package for facilitating clearing the examination.
A big question which remained unanswered is the involvement of ‘Colleges’ in examination scam and the suspicion was cemented after few students have confirmed that they used to receive calls regarding ‘clearing of examination’ in which unknown callers used to offer services to facilitate clearing of examination in return of fee for helping.
From the initial stages of the investigation the STF has been working on the lines of correlating the suspicious role of colleges in the examination scam but has not succeeded in its attempt. According to the information a list of 80 students has been made who would be questioned after answer sheets are ‘investigated’ and it would also define their role and the capacity in which they were involved.
