MP BJP president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan has welcomed the move of the State Government to prepare smart cards for the gas victims, so that they could get treatment in several hospitals.

In a statement, Chouhan said that dreaded gas-MiC-leaked during the world’s worst industrial disaster ruined lives of lakh of families of Bhopal in 1984 and since then the diseases ridden victims are hanging between life and death.

After periodical review of gas relief works it has been decided that the gas victims would be provided smart cards to pave way for their hassle free treatment.

This initiative in the leadership of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan by Minister for Gas Tragedy, Relief, Rehabilitation and Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang is laudable and the party organisation thanks the CM and Sarang for this feat, he added.

Chouhan further said, “Many hospitals were opened in Bhopal for the treatment of gas victims but all these hospitals became handicapped with the passage of time. Chief Minister Chouhan has prepared a work plan for elevating all these hospitals into

super specialty hospitals.  Besides, for the first time outsourcing in all six hospitals has also been considered. Due to that patients would no longer have to wander on the basis of

CGHS for getting treatment. After getting registration the patient would be dropped by ambulance to the designated facilitation centre and to it would also be ensured that the patient should be brought back.”

Chouhan expressed happiness that the smart card would prominently have the details of diseases and treatment history. This card would also be helpful document for patient’s health, social and economical rehabilitation record.

Besides, a world class blood bank would also be set in these hospitals so that the patients would not have to face shortage of blood, he added.
