St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School presented ‘ADVIK BACHPAN’, the Annual Function of Classes 1& 2 on Saturday. Following tradition, the event began with the lighting of the symbolic lamp by the Chief Guest ADM Satish Kumar S and other dignitaries.
The Chief Guest was greeted with a sapling. A warm welcome was extended to all present with a melodious song. As the name ADVIK BACHPAN implies, the theme of the evening was to cherish childhood, the most innocent and pure phase of life.
Through plays, songs and dances the students carried the audience to their own childhood, urging all to turn away from smart phones, gadgets and social media and reconnect to the warmth of simple pleasures of outdoor games, like cricket and build human contact. The audience was enthralled and mesmerized by the synchronized and invigorating dance performances. The flavour of the land was captured in the coordinated tribal dance.
The Chief Guest, Satish Kumar appreciated and applauded the efforts of the students and the teachers in presenting such a wonderful programme.
The students proposed the vote of thanks to whole-heartedly thank all well-wishers of the Xav’s Family for their love and support. The Principal, Fr Varghese Shiju PS, thanked the parents, teachers, students and all well-wishers for their support in making the event such a huge success. The event came to a close with a grand Finale dance that set everyone swaying to the beats! All in all, the evening was a grand success.
