A 50-year-old woman was mowed down by a speeding bus of laxmi Narain College of Technology (lNCT) at Jyoti Talkies Square on Friday.
Police said the victim Renu Bais was hit by a speeding bus when she was on her way to home at TT Nagar. On Friday afternoon the victim had gone to get her scooter repaired at MP Nagar and later, she met with an accident which was head on collision and it proved fatal for the victim as she died on the spot. After the accident, the driver of the bus fled the spot by leaving behind the vehicle. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post-mortem. The police have registered a case under Section 304 (A) of the IPC and have launched a hunt for the errant driver.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old scrap dealer died when a lift fell freely at Directorate of Public Instruction at Gautam Nagar under Govindpura police station area on Friday. According to the police, the victim Shahzad was trying to dismantle the lift with the help of some labourers which was bought by him earlier and while he was busy in the process the lift broke free and grounded. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Police suspected it might be a human error or someone had broken the chord intentionally. The police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
