The Maihar Assembly bypoll might be important for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh, but interestingly Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders of neighbouring State Uttar Pradesh are also keeping a close eye over it.

Senior SP leader, brother of SP supremo and senior minister of UP cabinet Shivpal Singh Yadav, another senior minister of the UP cabinet Kamaal Akhtar and former MP and chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthaan Uday Pratap Singh are at-least known to be making enquiries about the outcome of the by-poll.

Yadav while chairing an Urdu poetic meet in lucknow couple of days back asked eminent poet from the state Manzar Bhopali about the prospects of Tripathi in the by-poll while Singh asked the similar question with Bhopali while sharing dais in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Akhtar is keeping eye on the by-poll by taking feedback from SP leaders and workers in the state. He called on SP leaders of the state capital Bhagwan Yadav, Sanjay Yadav and others to know Tripathi’s position.

Sanjay Yadav while taking to The Pioneer said that Akhter had called him and others to know about party prospects in by-poll and especaily about the position of Tripathi. Manzar Bhopali said, “Yadav and Singh are taking interest for the outcome of Maihar By-poll and were enquiring with me about Tripathi’s prospects.”

The SP leaders are especially interested to know the fate of BJP candidate Narayan Prasad Tripathi because it was the SP on that’s symbol Tripathi made his debut in the Madhya Pradesh assembly in 2003.
