Sonam Raghuvanshi, now identified by Meghalaya Police as the alleged mastermind behind her husband Raja Raghuvanshi's murder, reportedly traveled to Indore to secretly meet her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha, just days after the crime in Shillong. This crucial detail has emerged as investigators piece together her movements following the murder of Raja on May 23.

According to the ongoing police investigation, after the horrific incident in Shillong, Sonam embarked on a calculated journey. She traveled from Shillong to Siliguri. From there, she made her way to Indore, where she allegedly met her secret lover, Raj Kushwaha, in a rented house on May 25. This meeting in Indore, if confirmed by local police, would be a critical link in establishing the alleged conspiracy. However, Indore police have not yet officially confirmed Sonam's presence in the city, stating they have not received specific information from their Shillong counterparts regarding this aspect of the probe.

Following her alleged meeting with Raj in Indore, Sonam reportedly took a private taxi to Varanasi. From there, in a desperate attempt to portray herself as a victim and mislead investigators, she allegedly staged a kidnapping near Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Her narrative was that she was abducted by robbers who had also killed her husband, aiming to deflect suspicion from herself.

Further details emerging from the police probe paint a chilling picture of Sonam's alleged composure after the crime. On the very day of the murder, she reportedly informed her mother-in-law that she was fasting. However, investigations suggest that she consumed a full meal at a homestay shortly after Raja's death, contradicting her earlier claim.

Raja Raghuvanshi was found dead in a deep gorge in Shillong on June 2, with signs of assault, leading police to register a murder case. The investigation swiftly uncovered an alleged plot orchestrated by Sonam and Raj Kushwaha, driven by Sonam's desire to marry Raj. Meghalaya Police have since arrested Raj Kushwaha, along with three other co-accused — Anand Kurmi, Akash Rajput, and Vishal Chauhan — who are believed to have assisted in the crime.
