Complaints should be solved at the earliest with appropriate solution to the complainants, said DGP Surendra Singh at a day-long training programme of clerks and computer operators of complaint cell of police at districts at Police Training and Research Institute on Wednesday.
Emphasizing the role of the police, Singh said that police is a service providing organisation and is required to provide service according to the needs of the people. Mostly negative feedback is provided regarding the police work and is always in the form of complaints. Based on the feedbacks the service management could be improved and changes could be made in the essential areas.
He also instructed to maintain the complaints in the computer system. Complaints from the Chief Minister Helpline should be treated as the top most priority and the complaints should be solved on priority basis within the specified timeline. Complaints from other mediums should be registered and solved on time. Entry of disposal report should be made in the computer and the complainant should be informed.
He added that software developed by Complaint wing at the State Police headquarters should be used which would help in timely disposal of cases creating zero pendency.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Complaint) Mahan Bharat Sagar informed about the use of software of complaint wing and explained the details of registering complaints received through CM Helpline.
Mindset and management to adopt the computerisation in the process of registering complaints would help in increasing the efficiency, he added. Director of Indian Institute of learning and Development Nitin Bang shared his experience of work management.
