Despite the fact that the victim is daughter of a sub-inspector, the Sehore police are not taking any interest in the murder investigation of a sub-engineer who was shot at in Sehore district headquarters few days ago.
The police officials have not moved even an inch in the investigation citing several reasons including the election duty.
The firing on woman sub-engineer Priyanka Baghel posted in Janpad panchayat of Sehore district on December 4, had created sensation in the whole town and almost everybody had criticized the incident demanding adequate security to the women.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sehore RS SIkarwar’s mobile phone remained out of reach for over two hours on Monday evening. Additional SP Amit Saxena told The Pioneer that the investigation is still in the process.
“We are exploring every angle in the case and would soon come out with something,” he added.
However, Sehore district’s Mandi police station SHO lC Bourasi told that due to the assignments of Assembly elections and other works, the investigation could not proceed at the speed it should have.
He expressed ignorance on the status of the victim and was not even aware of victim’s present health situation.Priyanka is still undergoing treatment at lBS hospital in Bhopal and as the lungs are damaged she is facing problems in conversation due to which the doctors have advised her not to talk.
Victim’s father RBS Baghel, who is Sub Inspector with the Bhopal traffic police, told that the doctors have claimed that nothing could be said at the moment as the lungs have been damaged severely.
Baghel too expressed ignorance about those who attacked his daughter as she did not have any problem in the past few months.Earlier, she worked as a faculty in a private engineering college of Bhopal and when she got the job in Janpad pachayat, Sehore she joined there and used to commute through train, he added.
