Unlike the simplicity boasted of during the marriage of his children at Garhakota, Panchayat Minister Gopal Bhargava exhibited great pomp and show at the marriage function held on Wednesday.
He had publicised that his children are getting married in a mass marriage function along with 1,000 other couples, but factually, the marriage turned as a royal wedding as there were several arrangements for greeting the VIP guests, like sprinkling of flowers through drones.
Claiming that it would be a major example of simplicity, Bhargava and his supporters had publicised the marriage even through social sites and also invited people through Whatsapp, Facebook and Youtube.
On the occasion, Bhargava informed the guests that such tradition has been started with 14th mass marriage function at Garhakota. Couples married at earlier mass marriage functions have been invited to this function. Bhargava informed that series of mass marriage functions had started since 2001. It is 14th function where marriages of 30 Muslim girls are also being solemnised. Besides, girls belonging to different castes are also getting married. Effort for social equality has been made by solemnising marriages of every section and caste under one Mandap.
He claimed that equal arrangements for food, lodging and transport have been made for them. He informed that some people had alleged about the mass marriage function four years ago that mass marriages of poor girls, is a mere formality. He would be regarded as true public representative if marriages of his only son and daughter are also solemnised with marriages of poor girls.
The Chief Minister lauded the decision of solemnising marriages of only son and daughter in the mass marriage function. He also felicitated Bhargava by garlanding him.
