Shahjehanabad police have booked five miscreants for opening fire at a 51-year-old at Bada Bagh cemetery on Sunday; victim was assaulted brutally and shot in his left hand.
Panic prevailed in the Bada Bagh area when the accused identified as Aslam along with his five aides opened fire and assaulted Nasir Alam.
The victim had gone to offer prayer at his father's cemetery at Baga Bagh and during prayer he was attacked by the accused. Accused and the victim had an old dispute over property.
The victim holds a past crime record. He was booked by Kotwali police for 4 crimes and is a watch list criminal of Kotwali police. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is reported stable.
On Sunday in the early morning hours Nasir was at the cemetery during which Aslam along with Alam, Ashraf, Akram, Javed and Arman attacked him and assaulted him. Aslam opened fire at Nasir injuring him in his ribs and below hands. The bullet passed the brushing victim due to which he sustained severe injury.
Initially the victim tried to convince but the accused continued with verbal spate and took out his gun and opened fire at the victim.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC and started further investigation. The accused escaped the spot and are still at large.
