Staff Reporter

Several advertisements appeared in Hindi dailies and a particular one with its unusual content has left the Madhya Pradesh unit of Congress feel shy.

With the name of MP Congress Committee in the credit, the advertisement appeared in several Hindi dailies on Monday. It also carries a section which introduces readers about the life journey of the Chief Minister but choice of words and instances has amused many.

At one place the advertisement says, “1996 me Unhe (Kamal Nath) Sunderlal Patwa ne chunaw me patakhani di thi (Sunderlal Patwa had in 1996 knocked him out in the election). In another para, it says that in 1979, the Janata Party Government had jailed Sanjay Gandhi and Indira Gandhi was concerned about her son’s safety, Nath ‘deliberately argued with a judge and was imprisoned for seven days with Sanjay Gandhi.’

Another contentious instance was mentioned in the ad when he allegedly lost out to Digvijay Singh in the race for CM in 1993.

“In 1993, his name was in contention for CM’s post but it is said that Arjun Singh (late Congress leader) had forwarded Digvijay Singh’s name and missed being CM.”

Since morning, the advertisement went viral on social media. Sharing it on twitter, BJP spokesperson Milan Bhargava claimed that Kamal Nath’s media team did not spare anything in embarrassing the CM him on his birthday. Public Relations minister PC Sharma termed it a conspiracy of the BJP. Congress media cell coordinator Narendra Saluja said that it was not an authorised advertisement issued by the Congress party. He said the party would find out who issued this advertisement.
