The State Congress on Tuesday alleged that despite making all-out efforts and gusting himself Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ‘could not succeed in misleading’ the people of Ratlam-Jhabua parliamentary constituency that was snatched back from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by Congress.

Former leader of Opposition and senior Congress MlA Ajay Singh in a statement said, “Chouhan gusted self along with his Cabinet, BJP organisation and complete Government machinery, spent several crores in the run up to Ratlam – Jhabua parliamentary constituency by-election but could not succeed in misleading the people who vehemently rejected the BJP. The victory of Congress is defeat of Shivraj Singh Chouhan.”

Singh further said that for a week Chouhan his whole Cabinet, 5 MPs, 40 MlAs, senior BJP leaders of State and Centre besides full Government machinery were active to defeat the Congress but the people gave a befitting reply to Chouhan and company by rejecting it.

Singh congratulating his party’s victorious candidate Kantilal Bhuriya said that this victory is mandate against the BJP, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Narendra Modi. This is the reply of people to Modi, Chouhan and BJP that they could not befool the people any more by lies and crocodile tears and hollow promises, he added.

He said that the Shivraj Government has been exposed with this defeat. The BJP need not be happy over the victory of Dewas assembly seat because the people of Dewas have made their Maharani victorious in sympathy. In 2013 the BJP won this seat by over 55 thousand votes but this time its winning margin has been reduced to 30 thousand despite the sympathy wave in its favor, he added.

The senior Congress said that the people of the State have got disillusioned with the Chouhan-led BJP Government of the State and the countdown for this Government has started.
