To expedite the Ujjain- Fatehabad Gauge conversion, officials of Western Railways have developed Jugaad Express which is tractor fitted with wheels of train coach to use it as freight train.
The one coach Jugaad Express is made by fitting of wheels of train coach to front and rear wheels of tractor for carrying goods required for work. It would save fuel and time and give pace to the work.
Ratlam Division PRO JK Jayant said that the wheels which could move over tracks were fitted to rear and front wheels of tractor and it has been named Jugaad Express. It consists of single coach of freight train.
According to railway officials with the use of Jugaad Express apart from less fuel and less time man power is also required low.
After the visit of Western Railway GM AK Gupta to review the work of Ujjain- Fatehabad Gauge conversion it was found 26 culverts and bridge work were under process.
At the time of the visit DRM RN Sunkar and head of departments of all departments were present and were instructed by GM Gupta to complete the work in two months and start the traffic over the track.
At present work of 26 culverts and bridge is under process and experts claim that apart from three big bridges Chintaman and Lekoda stations would require six months for construction.
