Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Project is world’s biggest project, being developed on a single location. The project has become a pride not only for the State but has also been able to attract attention internationally. Few days back during the Bhopal visit of Richard Verma, USA Ambassador to India has shown keen interest in REWA Ultra Mega Solar Project.
In view of the size and global partnership involved in this project, International Finance Corporation (IFC) would engaged for Technical, legal and Regulatory services which could assist in sustainable development of the project.
World Bank would be providing subsidised soft loan for the construction and development of internal infrastructure and Electrical Transmission System (33x220KV).
Power Grid Corporation of India is also constructing a 400 KV substation for the Interstate grid connection. Power produced from the project will sold to Delhi metro rail corporation and MP Power Management Company ltd.
Issa Bell Chaterton, Head Asia-Pacific, IFC, met Rajendra Shukla, Minister of Energy and New and Renewable Energy on Thursday and updated about the major activities of the project, On this occasion Manu Shrivastava, Principal Secretary, New and Renewable Energy was also present in the meeting. Officers also briefed about the success Pre-bid meeting held on April 01, 2016 for the Rewa project, it also highlighted the participation large number of major National and International companies working in the area of Renewable Energy.
It was also informed that project is receiving a good enthusiasm from the developers and it is estimated that there would be huge participation in developers’ selection process. In addition to this, information related to forthcoming stages of bidding required for project implementation along with deadlines was also shared.
The Minster having satisfied with latest progress, instructed to comply with deadlines of the completion of all project related work, so that the Project developed could be selected, and the project could be completed with the schedules period and can become operational by June 30.
